Skilled Up
Skill development for young people.
Are you aged 15-25 and live in Dumfries & Galloway? Would you like to get a taste of what it’s like working in the events industry and develop new or existing skills?
We are looking for five young people to take part in Skilled Up, a new Skills development programme based around Wigtown Book Festival (27 September - 6 October 2024).
Activities will take place in September and October 2024. Each person taking part will receive three personalised training sessions with an experienced event professional, and the chance to use their skills during the festival.
Assistance with travel costs will be provided if required and there will be a daily living allowance. And if we use your work, we will also pay you for it!
There are four areas you can apply for. In some cases, there may also be the opportunity to combine two skills.
Photography
Communications (including print and digital media)
Event management
Sound and video production
Fill in our quick and easy application form to apply. You don’t need any previous experience (though if you do, that’s good too!). We want to know why you feel this opportunity is right for you.
The deadline has been extended to 31 July 2024
If you have any questions before signing up, please contact mail@wigtownbookfestival.com or telephone 01988403222.
Skilled Up 2024 is funded by Kilgallioch Community Fund with support from The Holywood Trust.
