Alastair Reid (1926 – 2014) was born in Whithorn and was well known as a writer, essayist, poet and translator of many Hispanic authors. This brand new trail, created in the centenary of his birth takes you through The Machars, from his birthplace in Whithorn to Wigtown where he showed his support of the Book Festival, in a fun quirky way in line with his popular children’s book Ounce Dice Trice.
