5 Questions with Elegant Originals
Tell us about your connection to Wigtown and the Book Festival
I became involved with Wigtown and the Book Festival through a lovely lady, Beverley Chadband, who I met at another event at the end of 2012. She told me about the wonderful events that Wigtown hold, so I applied to take part and haven't looked back. This has led onto some very strong friendships and my love for Wigtown and its people just grows and grows.
Sum up your festival experience in 5 words
Fun, friendship, laughter, love and 'Sniff my coo!'
What's your favourite festival memory?
At last year’s festival, the lovely author Julie Summers popped into the Kist and bought one of my silk chiffon scarves (after she had brought two with her from home - though it was her birthday). I was so surprised and pleased when she came in after her talk wearing the scarf she had bought! I even got a pic of us together with her wearing her Elegant Originals scarf.
Who would be your dream author to appear at the Festival?
My dream author is a lady who has become an author whilst continuing with her known career. Jo Brand is a woman I'd love to listen to as her life and experiences are so richly coloured. I also think she would be wonderful to take to the pub afterwards and have a few pints and a laugh with.

Spend time and talk to the local people. We live in an area that is rich with so many amazing things to see and do, but the biggest asset of Wigtown and Dumfries and Galloway are the people themselves. Open, friendly, warm and welcoming, just love you all xxx
